Dr. Walter E. Williams Of George Mason University

"When you create a bubble, the cure for it is for the bubble to burst -- and one of the ways for a bubble to burst is for people and companies to go bankrupt, and for people to lose their homes." -Dr. Williams

"Just look at the language of the Constitution: 'Congress shall not infringe... Congress shall not disparage... Congress shall not prohibit... Congress shall not deprive...' Now, with that kind of language does it sounds like the Founders trusted government? Yet we do!" -Dr. Williams

"Bankruptcy doesn't mean all the assets of a company go POOF! What bankruptcy
means is there's a change in the title to these assets. That is, someone else will own
the assets -- someone who thinks he can do a better job with the assets." -Dr. Williams

The Campaign Never Ends: Hillary Bashes Bush In Pakistan

Bush-bashing forever: Hillary dumps on Dubya in Pakistan

Well into 2012, we will still be hearing about the terrible mess they inherited, and our diplomatic representatives will go around the world, telling foreign audiences that their problems are the fault of the Bush administration.

Pols Will Never Learn That Everything Is Interconnected In The World Of Prices

Magic Numbers in Politics
When government meddles in a market economy, it tends to do so with no regard for the repercussions.

Our current economic meltdown results from the federal government — under both Democrats and Republicans — declaring home ownership to be a good thing and treating the percentage of families who own their own home as if it was some sort of magic number that had to be kept growing — without regard to the repercussions on other thing

How did we get from home ownership to 15 million unemployed Americans? By ignoring the fact that there was a reason why only 64 percent of families owned their own home. More people would have liked to be homeowners, but did not qualify for loans under the mortgage-lending standards that had been in place for decades.

Politicians to the rescue: Federal regulatory agencies leaned on banks to lend to people they were not lending to before — or else. The
or elseincluded not having their business decisions approved by the regulators, which could cost them more money than making risky loans.

Mortgage-lending standards were lowered, in order to raise the magic number of home ownership. But, with lower lending standards, there were — surprise! — more mortgage-payment delinquencies, defaults, and foreclosures.

How Soon They Forget

How soon liberals forget: Is McChrystal the new Shinseki?

The principle of civilian control means that once the competent civilian authorities have made a binding decision, military leaders are obligated to support it and carry it out. If they cannot in good conscience do so, they should resign. The principle does not mean that military leaders are barred from publicly expressing their best judgment as to the strategy and tactics best suited to the problem at hand before the civilian authorities have made their decision.

The current situation is entirely different. McChrystal is offering his professional judgment well in advance of a presidential decision.

Biden To Flood Victims: We'll Be There Next Week

Biden some Georgia flood victims, damage akin to Katrina

American Samoa has been devastated by what? Either the earthquake or the tsunami or something, and there's some people dead, and lots of devastation.  But our president hasn't said a word about it, hasn't flown over it, hasn't gone over there -- we have no mention of it.  But you don't even have to go to American Samoa.  They had horrible floods throughout Georgia and you know what Joe Biden said?  They sent Biden down there to comfort the flood victims, he said, (paraphrasing) "We're going to be working on this.  Now, we're not going to get down here this week, we may not get down here next week, but we're going to get down here.  Be patient, we're coming."  Look, all of this is a perfect illustration of just what we face in the country.  Obama can do no wrong, folks.  You're going to have come to grips with it and you're going to be forever disappointed if you're waiting for State-Controlled Mainstream Media to hold him accountable to anything.  They're just going to further his efforts at lying.

Wisdom From Dr Walter Williams

"I prefer a thief to a Congressman. A thief will take your money and be on his way, but a Congressman will stand there and bore you with the reasons why he took it."

HSAs: Real Reform

ObamaCare would almost surely kill off consumer-driven plans that reward patients for smart shopping. That's a pity, because there are signs that the plans may actually be starting to cut costs.
